ACTION: Call to Reject Regulatory Rollbacks

From Indivisible Oregon...

**CALL TO ACTION**

REJECT REGULATORY ROLLBACKS
——————————————————————————————
Like laws that protect your health, safety and welfare? Like laws that protect your health, safety and welfare? So do we.
Six “regulatory reform” bills threaten to paralyze the EPA and other federal agencies that have always been responsible for these regulations. Full details here:  http://bit.ly/2ncowSk. A few examples:
• H.R. 26 requires any new regulation to be “offset” by amending or repealing existing regulations – regardless of how the rule might benefit people, the environment, etc
• H.R. 5 creates new procedural hurdles to new regulations, and would assist businesses attempting to block a pending regulation through litigation.
• HR 1004 restricts the ability of agencies to raise awareness of regulations in social media and press releases. This is a solution in search of a problem, and ripe for industry meddling and influence.
None of these regulatory reforms bills can become law unless Republicans rally 60 votes to overcome a Democratic filibuster.

CALL SENATORS WYDEN AND MERKLEY
SAMPLE SCRIPT
“My name is [---], a constituent from [city], Oregon (zipcode). I strongly oppose so-called “regulatory reform” bills that would effectively paralyze the EPA and other federal agencies from passing regulations to protect my health, safety and welfare. Will the Senator commit to standing with other Democratic Senators in filibustering these harmful bills?”
