Trump has over 100 federal judgeships to fill – many open due to the GOP's refusal to vote on Obama appointees.  This week the Senate plans to vote on an appointment for Damien Schiff who is biased and out of the mainstream.

Damien Schiff is not qualified to sit on the federal bench. He has never served as a judge and is a conservative blogger who writes under a pseudonym.  On his blog and in statements Schiff has:
--called Supreme Court Justice Kennedy a “judicial prostitute”
--said the government should be guided by “natural law”
--advocates for MORE money in politics
--made anti-women and anti-LBGTQ statements
--worked to undermine protections for the environment

Senator Whitehouse was right about Schiff when he said at Schiff’s Senate hearing “It is astounding to be sitting here and having this being treated as if it’s normal.  It just isn’t normal.”  No, Senator, it is not.

Damien Schiff’s nomination is as outrageous.  His statements make clear he is biased and cannot have an open minded on the bench. The Senate must provide a check against this appointment.

The Senate must vote NO on Damien Schiff’s nomination.
