Americans were shocked by white supremacist hatred and violence in Charlottesville. http://bit.ly/2vc818C But instead of naming and denouncing domestic terrorism by fascists, Trump comforted them by blaming their opponents. http://n.pr/2wO333Y

Congressional censure is a public reprimand and expression of disapproval of the president or other public official. http://bit.ly/2ws0maG. Our MoCs Blumenauer, Bonamici, Merkely and Schrader have endorsed House Concurrent Resolution 77 to “censure and condemn” Trump for his:
-inadequate response to Charlottesville’s violence
-delay in naming and condemning the alt-right groups responsible for domestic terrorism
-re-asserting that “both sides” were blameworthy
-excusing the violence of “Unite the Right”
-employing aides tied to the alt-right

A few Republican leaders have criticized Trump’s abhorrent actions. http://wapo.st/2vTd7J3; http://cnn.it/2uQyxFg But they must do more. They must join Democrats and vote for the censure bill. Congress must make it clear that Trump’s racist anti-American comments are unacceptable. Trump must realize America completely rejects his actions. He cannot be allowed to give Nazi’s comfort and:
-make Nazi ideology acceptable
-excuse Nazi actions
-blame his opponents for terrorism

Congress must stand up for what’s right. Congress must censure Trump. History is watching.
