There are many problems with America’s voting procedures:
--decreased access to the ballot box
--lack of security of electronic ballots and susceptibility to hacking
--felons’ disenfranchisement
--Supreme Court’s gutting of Voting Rights Act
--low electoral participation
--gerrymandering

Nevertheless, Trump created a presidential commission to investigate just that, made up largely of voter suppression advocates.
--to provide support for Trump’s unsubstantiated claim he lost the popular vote because 3-5 million people voted illegally
--to create impression fraud is widespread so Republican-run states can make registering and voting ever more difficult
--to develop lists of allegedly questionable voters to be purged from the voting rolls.
Although many states have refused to provide the voter information requested http://cnn.it/2sGPdNs, in response, numerous voters sought removal from the rolls http://nbcnews.to/2u2Ivnx. And now, Sen. Wyden and others are decrying the commission’s disclosure of personal information about citizens who criticized it http://bit.ly/2tRKD0w
Our Democratic MoCs have introduced the Vote-by-Mail Act (S.1231) (automatic voter registration and vote-by-mail in federal elections). But they must do even more— fight to dismantle this “voter suppression” commission.
