ACTION: Call to Stop the Attacks On ACA

From Indivisible Oregon....

**CALL TO ACTION**

DON’T HOLD THE ACA HOSTAGE
—————————————————————————————
#ProtectOurCare
The attacks on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) have been a hallmark of the volatile Trump administration, starting from Day One.
- The first executive order President Trump signed gave departments the authority to roll back the ACA (http://bit.ly/2pbgGtj).
- Several weeks later, the GOP proposed a plan that would deprive 24 million Americans of healthcare and give a tax break to the wealthy (http://bit.ly/2pv9yoT). However, the bill never made it to vote, largely due to significant pushback from angry constituents nationwide.
- Trump is now attempting to force Democrats to the negotiating table, by taking the ACA hostage: He is threatening to withhold government subsidies for insurance companies. If he does so, insurance companies will likely raise premiums on participants, making healthcare inaccessible for many. (http://nyti.ms/2oQ23ut).
Senator Wyden has made a clear statement: “We will not negotiate with hostage takers.”  http://bit.ly/2oKjdJI Our other Members of Congress must do the same.

“My name is [--] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. First, I’m calling to thank Senator Wyden for his statement on the Trump Administration’s healthcare hostage-taking. I support him in his refusal to negotiate with hostage-takers. Second, I’m asking the Senator to rally more Members of Congress to this position, and to sponsor legislation that will allow for full implementation of the ACA.”
