DEMAND A SPECIAL COUNSEL INVESTIGATION
——————————————————————————————
#SpecialCounsel
On Sunday, Senator John McCain rightfully announced that Representative Devin Nunes “killed” the bi-partisan nature of the House Intelligence Committee’s investigation into the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia. (http://politi.co/2nwLdxb ) Nunes has shown himself to be biased, yet he refuses to recuse himself from leading the investigation.
This issue is too critical to be buried in partisan politicking. It’s time to appoint a special counsel to conduct an independent and open investigation. Department of Justice regulations require the appointment of a special counsel if…
A) An investigation would present a conflict of interest for the Justice Department;
OR
B) Other extraordinary circumstances warrant such an appointment.
OR
B) Other extraordinary circumstances warrant such an appointment.
It’s become clear in just a few short weeks that both conditions have been met.
Many of Oregon’s MoCs have called for special counsel in the past month. (http://bit.ly/2nRGmYJ) Now is the time for them to reiterate and intensify the demand.

SAMPLE SCRIPT:
“My name is [---], a constituent from [city], Oregon (zipcode). The issue of Trump’s possible collusion with Russia to steal the presidential election is too important to be left exclusively to a GOP-controlled Congress. I’m asking (Senator/Rep) to publicly demand that the Justice Department appoint a special counsel to conduct a broad and unbiased investigation.”
