ACTION TWO: CALL YOUR HOUSE REPS

SAMPLE SCRIPTS FOR REPRESENTATIVES:

My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I am calling because…
Congress must follow the blueprint in the Mueller report and continue the investigation of Trump for obstruction of justice.  I am asking the Representative to demand the full unredacted report from Attorney General Barr, and to call for Robert Mueller to testify before Congress as soon as possible.  Thank you.”

BACKGROUND:

Despite the redactions and fairy tale interpretation spun by Trump’s ally Attorney General Barr, the Mueller report presents clear evidence of obstruction of justice by the President.
This evidence demands further Congressional investigation now and Mueller must testify before Congress as soon as possible.
Mueller declined to prosecute Trump citing policies that prevent the Department of Justice from indicting a sitting President.  But his report also states that “…Congress has authority to prohibit a President’s corrupt use of his authority…”  This firmly puts the ball in Congress’s court.
Even with Barr’s redactions, the report is a litany of official malfeasance. Specific incidences of Trump’s direct efforts to thwart the Russia investigation include:
  • Repeated efforts to persuade witnesses to lie.
  • Encouraging witnesses to conceal or fabricate evidence.
  • Ordering the White House Counsel to fire Mueller, and then to lie about being ordered to do so.
  • Ordering then A.G. Jeff Sessions to limit Mueller to investigating only future elections – not 2016.
  • Ordering officials to produce a memo declaring Trump’s innocence.
Call our MOC’s.  Tell them the Mueller report gives Congress a detailed road map and a clear mandate to continue the investigation into Trump’s criminal obstruction and they must follow it.
