OPPOSE GOP RIDERS TO THE MUST-PASS SPENDING BILL

Congress must pass a spending bill by March 23 or the government will shut down … again. While everyone focuses on the debate over funding for federal programs, Republicans hope that nobody notices the "riders" that their bills contain, including measures that

(1) Expand the scope of "dark money" in politics by:
• relaxing the limits on how campaigns can coordinate with national party organizations and how much money mega-donors can contribute
• repealing Johnson Amendment provisions and allowing campaign spending by churches

(2) Undermine women's health by:
• defunding Planned Parenthood
• eliminating the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program and a federal family planning program

Additionally, the GOP's spending bills include more than eighty anti-environmental provisions despite the Trump Administration's own recent report demonstrating that Obama-era federal environmental regulations are both cost-effective and beneficial. Republican anti-environmental riders:

• Prohibit implementation of the EPA's ozone standard
• Block enforcement of the Endangered Species Act
• Undermine the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act
• Overturn rules prohibiting gas flaring and methane venting on public lands

We cannot allow far-reaching policy changes to be made in secret. Tell your Members of Congress to defeat these extreme GOP riders!
