KEEP WORKING FOR DREAMERS
—————————————————————————————
#DREAMActNow
#ProtectDreamers
Monday the U.S. Supreme Court rejected an extraordinary bid by the Trump administration to circumvent the judicial process. It was a blatant attempt to bypass the 9tth Circuit Court of Appeals and have a stacked Court rubber stamp his decision to end DACA protections.
While this effectively suspends the March 5th termination date for DACA, it's only a temporary reprieve from deportation for Dreamers. They still face uncertainty about their future. And while Ryan and McConnell leverage their future for political gain, at least 19,000 DREAMers have lost their work permits.
A DACA deal is expected to be attached to the March 24th omnibus spending bill. Trump, his administration and elements in the GOP will try to tie any continuation of DACA with hardline racist immigration policies being pushed by the far right aimed to keep America majority white. These include
• the elimination of diversity visas
• end to family-based immigration
• border wall construction
• attacks on “sanctuary cities”
Tell our Members of Congress to vote against any bill that includes racist immigration legislation and to push for permanent legislation assuring the protection of DREAMers. Keep fighting!
In November, elect MoCs who support DREAMers and fair immigration policy.

**ACTION 1: LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR OUR SENATORS and YOUR REPRESENTATIVE**
SAMPLE SCRIPT:
“My name is [--] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I am very concerned about the fate of the DREAMers. These young adults need relief now. I ask the Senator/Rep do all he/she can to bring a clean DREAM act for a vote as soon as possible. Thank you.”

**ACTION 2: GET YOUR MID TERM GAME ON!**
It has become clear that we need a different Congress to help DREAMers. Make sure you and everyone you know is registered to vote. Keep an eye on Indivisible Oregon’s website for our soon-to-be-published plans for midterms. In the meantime, check out our list of great election resources.
The very lives of these young adults depend on it.
