INCO Weekly Newsletter May 15

Streamlined for you! Feedback welcome here.
ACTION NOW

The Resistance is going strong on Oregon's North Coast and Washington Peninsula! Details are being finalized, but for now, we want you to be the first to know about what we've got in the works:
  • June 3: We host a Rally for Truth
  • June 8:  We launch Resistance School
  • June 24: We join Indivisible OR-1 for a districtwide meeting and training
Watch this newsletter for details. In the meantime, VOTE! Your Clatsop County ballot is due TOMORROW by 8 pm. Take it to an official drop site so that your vote counts. Important policy and budget decisions will be made by the people we elect. Everyone can use our VOTE THE FUTURE guide to local progressive candidates in this election.

And don't let up the pressure on this administration. The White House denies that "regular people" are interested in the Trump-Russia situation, but we know better. Here's why Indivisible is calling for an independent investigation of the Trump-Russia connection.
  • Contact your Member of Congress to demand an independent investigation.
  • Call Department of Justice Comment Line: 202-353-1555.
  • Call the White House Comment Line at 202-456-1111. Open til 1 pm Oregon time.
Warrenton Residents: Apply to be appointed to the City Commission seat vacated by newly selected Mayor Henry Balensifer. Submit a resume and letter declaring your interest to City Hall before 5 pm on May 22.  If you don't run, who will?
KUDOS to INCO members from the Washington Peninsula who marched in Long Beach's Loyalty Day parade this month, registering voters and giving away pocket Constitutions.
AND to the hardy group at Cannon Beach for enduring rain and hail to participate in the Beach Bill celebration, where they handed out INCO postcards.

Democracy does not require perfect equality, but it does require that citizens share in a common life.... For this is how we learn to negotiate and abide our differences, and how we come to care for the common good.        -- Michael Sandel

Kleptocracy: "government by those who seek chiefly status and personal gain at the expense of the governed."
