KEEP CALLING TO SAVE THE ACA!

#ProtectOurCare
Last week we flooded our MOCs with calls and tweets to stop a House vote on Trumpcare 2.0 – the GOP Freedom Caucus’ amended American Health Care Act (AHCA). The calls worked! But only temporarily. House GOP leaders spent the weekend pressuring moderate Republicans for the votes they need to move forward.
-- We must keep calling. If Trumpcare 2.0 is passed, at least 24 million people will be kicked off insurance, Medicaid will be gutted, and preexisting conditions and essential health benefits will not be covered in many states. http://bit.ly/2pwKFv4.
--We must keep calling. Trumpcare 2.0 “is not an ‘act of mercy.’ It is an act of malice” (http://bit.ly/2mGLErw) that “could effectively make coverage completely unaffordable to people with pre-existing conditions” (http://bit.ly/2oN9zri).
--Ron Wyden calls the amended AHCA “morally reprehensible” http://bit.ly/2qkwXJL and Earl Blumenauer asks “Why buy insurance if it doesn’t actually cover anything??” http://bit.ly/2oU6vF7.
The GOP just won’t give up, and neither should we. We need to call our Oregon House delegation, our family and friends in other states, and set social media on fire to pressure MOC’s throughout the U.S. to stop the amended AHCA. Again.

The most effective calls include a personal story about how this issue affects you. Or, adapt our scripts:
SCRIPT FOR EVERYONE BUT WALDEN: “My name is [--] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am proud to be part of a state with US Representatives such as Rep [--] who I can count on to vote no on the amended AHCA. I am asking the Congressperson to do more than vote NO: I'm asking [her/him] to speak out loudly and publically on this issue, to make [her/his] moderate GOP colleagues understand the devastating effects of this bill on their constituents.
SCRIPT FOR GREG WALDEN: “My name is [--] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am appalled by Representative Walden’s past support for AHCA repeal and replace plan. I demand that he stand up for us —his constituents whose lives are at stake—and vote NO on the amended bill. I'm asking the Congressman to vote NO and to urge his fellow lawmakers to do the same.
**ACTION 2**
