ACTION: CALL TO PERSIST ON #RUSSIAGATE

From Indivisible Oregon...

**CALL TO ACTION**
Wednesday, May 3, 2017
————————————————
WE MUST PERSIST ON # RUSSIAGATE
————————————————
The Congressional investigations into Team Trump’s Russia ties are in disarray. The Senate Intelligence Committee probe appears to have stalled, despite Senator Wyden’s calls to speed up subpoenas and public hearings. Meanwhile the House Intelligence inquiry lumbers on, now led by Mike Conaway (who replaced discredited ex-chair Nunes). Tomorrow, they will call the same witnesses they called last time.
--Finally, a substantive witness will be testifying: fired Deputy US AG Sally Yates. But NOT for one of the intelligence investigations. Her testimony will be May 8—before the Senate Judiciary Committee—and on a limited issue.
--During his confirmation process, newly appointed Deputy US Attorney General Rod Rosenstein pledged to appoint an independent special prosecutor to investigate election “if one is required.” http://cnn.it/2p6VL6Y
--According to a recent NBC/WSJ poll that time is NOW: 61% of Americans don’t think Congress is equal to the task, and 73% say they want an independent probe. http://nbcnews.to/2pt3twj
Oregon MoCs -- with the exception of Greg Walden -- have called for appointment of a Dept. of Justice independent counsel in the past. However, we can’t less RussiaGate fade into the background: our MoCs must persist until their calls are heeded.
And we have one additional call you can make, thanks to 5 CALLS.COM:calling Mr. Rosenstein himself!

**ACTION 1: CALL BOTH SENATORS**
SAMPLE SCRIPT:
“My name is [--] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am proud to have Senators who have spoken out so strongly for a truly nonpartisan independent investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 US presidential election. This matter is too crucial to be left only in the hands of understaffed committees of a partisan Congress. I would like to see Senator [--] call on newly appointed US Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to appoint a unbiased special counsel NOW.
