INCO Weekly Newsletter 7/15

INCO's LIghts for Liberty vigil, one of over 800 such events worldwide, was Friday night, July 12, in Astoria. State Representative Tiffiny Mitchell called for humane and just treatment of immigrants and asylum seekers. Members of the Whale Spirit drum circle drummed throughout the vigil, which featured poetry by Heather Hirschl and Marianne Monson. Frances Madsen spoke about her recent experiences at the border. Kathleen "Lady Liberty" Zunkel's sign says "Remember me."

Enjoy the cheers from spectators as INCO walks in our third Regatta parade. It's a level walk about 1 mile long, with costumes, music, tons of spectators, and a terrific opportunity to introduce INCO to even more people!  This is the Regatta's 125th anniversary!

ACTION PRIORITIES
How will your Members of Congress know what you want if you don't tell them?

•  Contact ONLY elected officials who represent you so you don't dilute the power of actual constituents.
•  It's more effective to contact your MoC about one issue at a time.
•  Be sure to tell your MoC when you agree with their positions and votes.

Contact YOUR elected officials here.  For current action items, visit www.incoregon.org and www.indivisible.org.
