Save America at The Ballot Box
Jump to today’s actions:
Background
The last three years have been a hard lesson in how fragile the norms and guardrails are that kept power from consolidating in one party or branch of government. We speak of these guardrails in the past tense, because we are watching so many of them violated without consequences.
The great political commentator Margaret Atwood of The Handmaid’s Tale said that totalitarians hijack three institutions: the judiciary, the media, and elections.
The Republicans took a big bite out of the independent judiciary these past few years.
An outsized chunk of the media spouts the tyrant’s messages.
November 3 will show whether Trump, his enablers, and Russia succeed in stealing the election again.
Definitely call our members of Congress. They need to hear where we stand on the Heroes Act, saving USPS and more.
Then after spending the five minutes you need to make those calls, work hard for Democrats up and down the ballot in flippable states.
As Sen. Merkley says “Dump Trump. Ditch Mitch. Save America.”
Honestly, the whole world is watching. If you want to join a community to do this work, go to indivisibleor.org. Bring a friend if you can. We need to win this.
