Background

We deserve leaders who care about us, no matter who we are or how we vote. We need Democrats to spread the word and secure the help we desperately need. The HEROES Act must become law before a continuing resolution vote. It's the last leverage we have.

The HEROES Act costs half of what the 2017 tax give-away to the wealthy did. Yet Senate Republicans gutted House Democrats' efforts, offering crumbs for us while helping themselves to even more. They then blamed Democratic opposition for their own failure.

We struggle with multiple crises: COVID-19, financial collapse, centuries of racist policies, police brutality, white supremacist threats, Russian election interference, Trump's authoritarianism, and climate catastrophe. House Democrats have passed legislation tackling all these issues, but Republican stinginess and political self-dealing relegated these bills to McConnell's legislative "graveyard."

Biden assembles a pandemic response team; Trump lies us into illness, death, and financial ruin. Biden visits his veteran son's grave; Trump denigrates military service. House Democrats' For the People Act includes anti-corruption measures; new Trump scandals emerge daily, enabled by his complicit GOP. We must engage the press and let voters know: Democratic leaders care and Democratic leaders act.
