Trump runs Executive Branch like a mob boss, whose governing style reminiscent of “The Sopranos.” He’s narcissistic, insecure and consumed with his enemies, issuing illegal, impossible to follow, and morally horrific orders.
Cabinet officials chosen for unquestioning loyalty, not ability or competence, and those insufficiently loyal replaced with more pliant foot soldiers, like Barr and Pompeo, and hints that those ratting on him deserve execution.
Family members, each with conflicts of interests, placed in high-level administration positions.
Like Mafia, underlings must “pay tribute” to boss, like Pence and Barr using Trump hotels.
Federal agencies forced to protect him, cater to his corrupt whims and punish his perceived enemies, rather than doing their jobs:
- Barr and Pompeo personally soliciting assistance from foreign intelligence to debunk Mueller Report
- US Attorney intervention in state tax case seeking Trump organization’s returns
- Pompeo’s reopening State Department investigation of Hillary Clinton
- Involving Barr, Pence, and Pompeo in “shakedown” of Zelensky
- Using EPA, DOT, and DOJ to punish California and auto companies for agreeing to cut emissions
We cannot permit Trump to govern as a mob boss, transforming White House into a criminal enterprise. Only a vote on impeachment ensures no one’s above the law.
