The GOP quest to repeal and replace the ACA continues. The Trump administration is thoroughly undermining the ACA. The Republican budget has so many tax cuts for the wealthy that the ACA, Medicaid and Medicare are at risk.
The Trump Administration drove up the premiums for individuals: instead of keeping these premiums low by guaranteeing cost sharing reduction payments, Congress spent time on ACA repeal instead. Many markets will see premium increases. http://lat.ms/2xQ0v8p
ACA enrollment is being deliberately sabotaged. HHS has:
• cut the enrollment window in half
• planned to disable the enrollment website every Sunday for “maintenance”
• cut enrollment advertising by 90%
• cut funding for enrollment navigators
• prohibited regional directors from participating in enrollment events

If all of this doesn’t sink Obamacare, the GOP is ready with its budget. Republicans plan to use reconciliation to pass tax cuts for the wealthy with only 50 votes, while cutting unspecified trillions in nonmilitary spending--putting the ACA, Medicaid and Medicare at risk. http://ampr.gs/2xSpLud. Senator Schumer confirmed that, if this budget passes, social programs will shrink. http://bit.ly/2wwyeA4.
Healthcare is a human right. Our government must commit to our human rights. Congress must protect the ACA.
