KILL THE BILL: STOP THE LAST-DITCH ACA REPEAL

The GOP is obsessed with repealing Obamacare/ACA, thereby ending healthcare for millions. Today, the GOP is expected to meet to discuss the latest repeal bill, the Graham-Cassidy-Heller amendment.  http://bit.ly/2x9Xgc0

Graham’s legislation appears to be equally damaging as its predecessors, if not worse. (http://bit.ly/2hl1hUu, http://bit.ly/2ygCwx0).

However, we won’t know the exact impact of the bill for weeks – how it will affect insurance premiums or how many people would lose coverage. Yet, the GOP will likely push for a vote before then. They want to exploit the limited window that allows them to pass the bill with only 50 votes. http://wapo.st/2x9LUEP  Sponsor Lindsey Graham wants the GOP to be as determined to repeal the ACA as Democrats were to pass it (http://bit.ly/2w0SFoF).  

The clock is ticking. Congress has until midnight September 30th.

Our democratic Senators can make a huge difference: They can run out the clock by slowing senate business, withholding unanimous consent and filibustering by amendment.  http://bit.ly/2xL9WGW  They can demand that no vote occurs until we know its full impact from the Congressional Budget Office.

But our Senators will only pull out all the stops if they have our support.  Please call immediately. Ask friends and family to do the same.

Withhold unanimous consent on all Senate business and filibuster by amendment to stop this bill.  Demand a CBO score before any vote, so the Senate knows what they’re voting on. Thank you “

**ACTION 2: FILLIBUSTER BY AMENDMENT**
If Graham-Cassidy-Heller gets to the floor our Senators can filibuster by amendment to slow down the process.  We need everyone to create as many amendments as they can at https://www.ouramendments.org/.  If you can, print them out and bring them to Resist Trump Tuesday at Senator Merkley’s office today at noon.
