ACTION: CALL TO STOP THE HATE

From Indivisible Oregon...

**CALL TO ACTION**

STOP THE HATE
———————————————
#LoveNotHate
Oregonians are reeling from the horror of recent deadly attacks on Portland public transit spawned by a white supremacist. The world is processing the London attacks. Trump’s tweets are stoking fear. It is time for Congress to take action to end hate and violence. http://nyti.ms/2racytNhttp://cnn.it/2qS90gZ
--On April 4, 2017, the Senate passed S.Res 118 by unanimous consent, a bi-partisan bill condemning hate and directing investigation and prosecution of hate crimes.
--S662 (No Hate Act) and HR 1566 proposes meaningful steps against hate, including the establishment of statewide hot lines for reporting abuse and the creation of a private right of action for victims of hate crimes. S662, co-sponsored by Sens Wyden and Merkley, has had a hearing in Senate Judiciary.  http://bit.ly/2rXLWNO
--HR 1503 (SOLVE Act 2.0) and S608 would revoke the Muslim Ban 2.0 and allow Syrian refugees to enter our country sending a message that the US will stand against hate and persecution. HR 1503: http://bit.ly/2nCUl7PS608: http://bit.ly/2o4Fj6S
Some of our Members of Congress support this legislation – but they can do more. Let’s get the focus back on these bills. Fighting hate at home and opening our doors to refugees will help end hate.
