STAND UP FOR THE PARIS ACCORD – CALL BEFORE NOON!!
—————————————————————————————
#ParisAgreement
#AmericaLast
The Paris Climate Agreement is the best available vehicle for international cooperation to save the planet. It is shocking that the President is even considering backing out http://wapo.st/2qAUE4x. We would join Syria and Nicaragua in refusing to participate. And Nicaragua refused because the Paris Agreement doesn’t go far ENOUGH.
We need to flood Congress with our support for the Paris Agreement. Our voice is their fuel. We can also protect the environment by calling about the bills below.
-- The Regulatory Accountability Act (S.951), which passed the House, is going through the Senate and must be stopped. The RAA would burden rule-making with “paralysis by analysis” http://bit.ly/2q3pwZO effectively ending protection from new health threats, environmental pollutants, and unsafe products.
-- Senator Merkley’s 100 by 50 bill lays out a road map for 100% clean, renewable energy by 2050. With or without the Paris Accord, we still need a national plan for how the US can reduce greenhouse gas http://bit.ly/2rFSz7r
The world is waiting to see what America does next. Trump makes his announcement at noon (PST). Let’s help our country make the right choice.

**ACTION 1: CALL BOTH SENATORS**
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR SENATOR MERKLEY
“My name is [--] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I want the Senator to know that I fully support the Paris Accord, and want him to stand up for remaining a signatory. I also would like to ask him to vote NO on S. 951 (the Regulatory Accountability Act) which would hamstring the rule-making process that protects our air, water, health and safety. Finally, I want to thank Sen. Merkley for introducing his 100 by 50 plan. Thank you.
