WALK WITH INCO IN THE ASTORIA REGATTA
GRAND LAND PARADE

GATHER:  by 11:15 a.m. at the  Aquatic Center and at 16th and Duane.
Indivisibles will tell you where to find INCO and our assigned place in the parade.

PARADE:  noon - 2 pm  on Exchange and Duane through downtown Astoria
Be part of this year's Regatta parade, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the Astoria Regatta. The parade is about 1 mile, with lots of cheers from spectators, great company - INCO folks, Abe Lincoln,  and other famous people  - music, and a terrific opportunity to introduce INCO to more people!  
NO political or other signs.


We'd love to have you walk with INCO at the parade this Saturday!

FIXING THINGS
Don't let horrible daily news paralyze you. You'll feel better if you Do Something to make a difference:
•  Tell your Members of Congress and your state legislators what you care about and what you want them to do. Contact info here.
•  Write a Letter to the Editor about an issue. Don't repeat fear-based messaging. For example, write about how you value science and factual information.Editor@dailyastorian.com.
•  Get active with organizations that strengthen our communities.
•  Donate to causes that defend our democracy.
INCO TACKLES THE CLIMATE CRISIS
Worried about climate change? Then be part of INCO''s new Forestry/Climate Change Working Group. They want to figure out what we can do here, especially regarding Oregon's forestry practices, to deal with the climate crisis.

WYDEN SUPPORTS IMPEACHMENT
A majority of House Democrats now support an impeachment inquiry into the crimes of Donald Trump. Impeachment hearings start in the House of Representatives. If the House votes for impeachment, the Senate would vote whether to remove Trump from office.

Senator Wyden is calling for impeachment inquiry. Please call his office today and say thank you. Please also show up to town halls/ events to say thank you and hold thank you signs!!

We thank Representatives Blumenauer, Bonamici, Defazio and Senators Merkley and Wyden for bearing witness at the border and protecting our democracy by supporting an impeachment inquiry and election security.We ask all our Members of Congress to
1) educate the public the impeachment process
2) push for impeachment hearings and election security votes as soon as the recess is over.

INCO activists rallied for the dignity of immigrants and against Measure 105, a measure to overturn Oregon's 1987 sanctuary law, in Astoria on July 28, 2018. INCO's mission statement includes opposing authoritarianism, bigotry, and corruption.

Saturday, September 7 - Astoria Community Group monthly meeting, 10:30 a.m. - noon, WineKraft, on the Riverwalk at the foot of 10th. It’s OK to bring your own food and drink. State Representative Tiffiny Mitchell talks about her first term in the state legislature.

ACTION PRIORITIES
  How will your Members of Congress know what you want if you don't tell them?

•  Contact ONLY elected officials who represent you so you don't dilute the power of actual constituents.
•  It's more effective to contact your MoC about one issue at a time. 
•  Be sure to tell your MoC when you agree with their positions and votes.
