We will thank our members of Congress for fighting for Trump’s removal. We will ask that, from here through election day, they spotlight the threats to fair elections and demand that Congress investigate any evidence of tampering with any part of the election process.

Call for documents and witnesses. Issue subpoenas if needed. Make Trump’s GOP show again their utter disregard of the law. Then we must unseat the GOP and the President in November.
Walden: I am appalled that the GOP is effectively crowning Trump as king by acquitting him of serious crimes they acknowledge he committed. I will remember in November.

BACKGROUND:

Three years into Trump’s rule, the Union — and our Constitution — are undermined. As of tomorrow, Trump will be a de facto king — if the Senate votes to acquit. But we do not recognize him. We refuse to accept the cover-up.
Our Members fought hard to prevent this moment; for that we are profoundly grateful. Now how do we repair the Union? Not by going away.
  • Trump’s attacks on the fair trial, fair judges, a fair Justice Department and the rule of law must be stopped.
  • His racist immigration policies must be stopped.
  • His attacks on environmental protections must be stopped.
  • He’s coming after Medicare and Social Security. He must be stopped.
  • He and his GOP must be stopped in November. 
And we are committed to stopping him at the ballot box in November.
Going forward, we ask our Members of Congress to focus on threats to fair elections.
  • Spotlight the dangers of voter suppression and hack-able ballot boxes.
  • Hold hearings.
  • Conduct investigations.
  • Issue subpoenas.
If elections are fair, America won’t have another four years of Trump’s GOP. We’ll have another chance at a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
