ATTORNEY GENERAL BARR LIED TO THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, TO THE COURTS, AND TO CONGRESS ABOUT THE SUBSTANCE OF THE MUELLER REPORT AND ABOUT DOJ SPYING ON TRUMP’S 2016 CAMPAIGN. HE ALSO REFUSED TO RECUSE HIMSELF FROM, AND TRIED TO BURY, THE WHISTLEBLOWER COMPLAINT, ASSERTED CLAIMS OF “ABSOLUTE IMMUNITY” TO PREVENT PRODUCTION OF WITNESSES AND DOCUMENTS DEMANDED BY CONGRESS, VIOLATED HIS OATH TO THE CONSTITUTION, AND HAS ACTIVELY WORKED TO UNDERMINE THE RULE OF LAW AND THE INTEGRITY OF THE 2020 ELECTION.
BACKGROUND:
Yesterday, all Justice Department prosecutors in the Roger Stone case resigned, and one left government entirely, in protest over Trump’s interference in his pal’s prisonsentencing.
Monday, the Department of Justice (DoJ) attorneys recommended that Stone serve 7 to 9 years in prison. His actions, they said, involving Russian interference, struck “at the very heart of our American democracy.”
Hours later, Trump tweeted that the proposed sentence was “horrible and very unfair . . . (and) a miscarriage of justice!” Coincidentally (?) Tuesday, DoJannounced it was withdrawing itssentencing recommendation.
This is a direct assault on “prosecutorial independence,”which protects prosecutors from political meddling.
Attorney General Barr envisions a presidency with vast authority. This extreme view alarms even conservative lawyers. Barr no longer defends the law, but is Trump’s legal consigliore.
- He deceived the public over the damning findings of the Mueller Report.
- He tried to bury the whistleblower’s Ukraine complaint.
- Now, only Barr can approveinvestigations into a presidential candidate.
- He has turned federal lawyers to attack sanctuary cities.
- He established a special DoJpipeline for Rudy Giuliani to provide dirt on Biden.
The House must investigate Barr’s activities. Impeachment of the AG may be necessary.
