As the Senate comes back from recess, they have three cabinet nominations on which they must vote: Mike Pompeo for Secretary of State, Gina Haspel for CIA director, and Dr. Ronny Jackson for VA Administrator.

Each nomination carries their own risk. They must be stopped.

Mike Pompeo puts us at risk of war. He is a vocal opponent of the Iran Nuclear deal and favorable views regime change in North Korea. Pompeo is also extreme in his anti-Muslim views.

Gina Haspel puts us at risk of war crimes. She was tasked with implementing Bush’s “enhanced interrogation” and saw to the destruction of tapes with evidence of torture at CIA black sites.

Dr. Ronny Jackson administrative inexperience may put veterans lives at risk. He lacks the background to run the second-largest government agency.  As former CIA director John Brennen stated, Jackson’s nomination will “hurt both a good man and our veterans.”

The Senate must provide advice and consent on nominations.  For the three nominations above them the Senate must vote no – to protect us from war and protect our troops.
