Longtime community and INCO activist Jean Dominey, 92 years old and a hospice patient, was thrilled she got to vote in this election!
Party-goers from around the US, Wales, and Japan celebrated Kamala Harris' birthday a week ago by writing postcards and calling voters during this event. Kudos to INCO activist and leader Beeb Ashcroft (top row, center in the screenshot) for hosting.

YOUR VOTE MATTERS
Republicans win when Democrats don’t vote. Democrats win when Democrats vote. When Democrats win, America wins.
OUTSTANDING OUTREACH
Writing from home and at WineKraft since last February, several dozen INCO postcarders wrote 9,698 postcards to voters in Oregon and around the US. Plus, other Indivisibles wrote letters and postcards to voters on their own. Adding all those up, it appears that INCO Indivisibles wrote 10,000-12,000 messages urging people to vote!
KUDOS TO EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!
BE A SCRUTINEER
Emily Levy, the founder of Scrutineers, joined INCO for a special presentation last week called "How YOU Can Protect the Election From Home" and provided invaluable information on how you can do election protection work from home, even if you only have a few minutes and are not skilled at using a computer. Emily has been involved with election protection work for 20 years, and shares how people can volunteer to do everything from following up on any discrepancies with poll tapes to observing the vote count via livestream, all from home. Get involved by filling in this form.
This replay will be available until November 3rd at 11:59 PM PST. This includes a transcript and automatic summary of the video and each chapter, which makes it easy to navigate. Replay link ishere. Passcode: 5Lh?NT&E

OWNERS OF WASHINGTON POST AND LA TIMES CAPITULATE
"It crept in overnight, while we were sleeping. Fascism showed its face not with jackboots and concentration camps…not yet, anyway…but rather as just another day in Capitalist America. Two major media companies, the Washington Post and the LA Times, made decisions to capitulate to the man they fear will be elected president before a single vote has been counted. They decided not to run editorials endorsing their preferred candidate for president, Kamala Harris, because the owners of the companies, Jeff Bezos and Patrick Soon-Shiong, are afraid if they anger Donald Trump, he will hit them where it hurts: In their pocketbooks.
"This is the way it happens. An autocrat like Donald Trump, with his history of impulsive decisions and threats against perceived enemies, has two billionaires cowering in fear, and he didn’t even have to pick up the phone." --Lucian Truscott IV, on Substack, October 26, 2024
INCO ENDORSEMENTS
* KAMALA HARRIS and TIM WALZ, President and Vice-President. They value competence, integrity, informed decision-making, commitment to democracy and the Constitution, the rule of law, compassion, respect - and policies based on those values.
* SUZANNE BONAMICI, US House of Representatives. She is respected by her colleagues and constituents for her successful long-time advocacy for democracy, schools, families, and other aspects of rural, coastal living.
* ANDY DAVIS, Democratic candidate for State Representative for House District 32. Andy’s priorities are housing, healthcare and education. He tackles business and county budgets and policies with calm and common sense. He works to bring people together for effective, practical problem-solving on the County Budget Committee and as an Astoria City Councilor. Andy puts people over politics to find solutions for our rural and coastal issues.
JAVADI'S LIES: A mailer last week from current state representative Cyrus Javadi lies about INCO and distorts Andy Davis's record. Javadi accuses INCO of being extremists about issues INCO has never discussed or voted on. What else does Javadi lie about?

ELIZABETH STEINER FOR OREGON TREASURER
The third-party candidate has no chance to win, but has a strong chance to be a spoiler for Steiner, letting GOP candidate Brian Boquist win. Boquist has been involved in high profile Republican walkouts from the legislature, threatening Oregon State Police if they tried to get him back to work in Salem.
