The Senate just released its tax cut plan. Although somewhat different from the House plan, it still gives the ultra-wealthy 1%—like Trump’s family and his Cabinet—undeserved tax breaks, for which we will all be paying well into the future.

The plan:
• repeals inheritance tax, paid only by richest 0.2%--worth up to $4 billion to Trump’s heirs, and would benefit half his Cabinet
• retains “step-up in basis” loophole, which allows tax-free inheritance of assets with untaxed capital gains
• repeals alternative minimum tax (AMT), designed to prevent rich from dodging taxes—without it in 2005, Trump’s tax rate would’ve gone from 25% to under 4% saving Trump $32 million
• taxes pass-through income from sole proprietorships/partnerships/real estate investments at 25% rather than at 39.6% applied to Trump and his cronies—annual savings of $23 million for Trump, $6-17 million for Jared Kushner, and $3-5 million for DeVos
• retains special loopholes for golf courses and for real estate developers, like Trump and Kushner

The American people do not support Trump’s Tax Scam and find his money-grubbing abhorrent. Our MoCs must work to defeat whatever version comes up for a vote.
