ACTION THREE:

Organizing for the 2020 Election is going VIRTUAL

BACKGROUND:

George Floyd’s murder by racist police officers lays bare America’s sins of racism, white supremacy, and policy brutality.
Trump is a racist.  He defends armed white supremacists while calling for the murder of black Americans seeking justice for George Floyd.
Congress must immediately, unequivocally censure Trump. Any MoC who refuses shares responsibility for the consequences of Trump’s racist, violent actions.
Congress must denounce police brutality.   Police brutality is escalating to police rioting. They are attacking the very people they are supposed to protect.  Congress must immediately pass Representative Pressley and Omar’s resolution to condemn police brutality.
“Riot is the language of the unheard.” (Martin Luther King Jr).  Congress please hear us.
“This should not be ‘normal’ in 2020 America.  It can’t be ‘normal’.  If we want our children to grow up in a nation that lives up to its highest ideals, we can and must be better.” (President Obama).  Congress please be better.
“If we are complacent, if we are silent, we are complicit in perpetuating these cycles of violence.  None of us can turn away. We all have an obligation to speak out.” (Vice President Joe Biden).  Congress please speak out.
Censure Trump. Pass the Pressley-Omar resolution.  Now.
